Thrifting is fun!

This morning my mom woke me up and asked me if I wanted to go to the thrift store with her, which was actually really good timing because yesterday I was thinking about going but didn't because I lack traveling skills. (aka a car).
Sooo we went to two thrift stores and for the most part I picked up little porcelain figurines that I thought were the cutest things in the place.
The first thing I got was this whale. I don't know what it's for but...just look at it!! SO CUTE.
With it's mouth open and everything. I have a feeling it's supposed to be a soap holder or something but I'll probably use it to hold hair things or makeup, I dunno I haven't decided yet.

Then I found these little traveling tourist ducklings. One is holding camera the other has a bag across it's shoulder. I don't know what I'm going to do with these either, just keep them in my room somewhere. They'll just look cute forever. :D
Then I found this dinosaur piggybank. There was also a cookie jar that was the exact same as this except for the colour or it. I figured that there wouldn't be much space in my room for a cookie jar AND a piggybank, so I settled for this piggybank. I mean c'mon. a dinosaur with a bowtie! And look at it's nose. ahaha.

So this was all at a Salvation's Army, then we went to Village Des Valeurs (Value Village = Savers). We spent a lot of time here just because there's a lot more stuff there. I got the coolest mug ever. I was looking for a mug that was really different from others since I've been drinking a lot more tea recently, and this one was just so cool, I had to have it! It's a freaking parrot for a handle! Likeomgcool.

I also indulged myself in this lovely heart-shaped pillow/plushie. It was in the Valentine's Day section and it just stood out as different from the other plushies or bears with hearts that said I love you. This thing says I love you without even trying. It's like "HUG ME". hahaha. Finally, I also gave into this piggybank because firstly it's so adorable and secondly because deep inside, I have a weird thing for collecting pig piggybanks. I already have maybe twenty or so different kinds of piggybanks. Back in elementary school my best friend at the time used to travel a lot and whenever she went somewhere, she would bring me back a pig figuring or a piggybank because it was my favourite animal. So most of my collection are piggybanks from all over the world, it's really cool actually. Maybe I should start doing that again...my collection's been just kind of sitting around.

Anyways! I also got a sweater and some books at Value Village. We also went to a mall and bought stuff for my brother since he's going on a ski trip soon. I bought another winter jacket and ate sushi for lunch so I'd say it was a pretty awesome day. I'm gonna go to the gym later. I need to keep myself motivated! I'm really regretting skipping out on yesterday. Oh well! Hope you guys are doing well! I also decided to start writing letters to Ryan as of now, so that when I do get his first letter and figure out how to mail stuff to him I can send him like a whole bunch of letters right away. When I do figure out his mailing address, let me know if you want the address, I'm sure he'd appreciate receiving as much mail as possible. :)

Wow, great finds! I believe your whale was designed to hold a sponge or scrubber by the kitchen sink, but of course you can use it however you wish. I use a vintage alligator planter to hold paper clips and rubber bands at work!

Ooh.. I love thrift shopping, I might go tomorrow :D
You won't believe how much junk I have lying around from flea markets and charity shops, it's an addiction I think. (LOVE the parrot mug btw!)
